一段时间已经没做scones了,食谱也不知扔到哪里去了。
知道有些网友其实也很爱吃scones,
而我又知道之前看过这么一个scones 的做法,
就决定放上来让大家参考一下咯!
Basic Buttermilk Scones (makes 16)
Ingredients
3 1/2 cups self-raising flour
2 tablespoons caster sugar
60g butter, chopped
1 1/2 cups buttermilk (重要材料!Scones 好不好吃就看这个了)
jam and whipped cream, to serve
Method
1. Preheat oven to 220°C.
2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
3. Place flour, sugar and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.Add butter.
Using fingertips, rub butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
4. Make a well in the centre. Add buttermilk.
Using a flat-bladed knife (重点是不能用手心将面团揉太久),
stir until dough almost comes together.Place on a lightly floured surface.
5. Knead gently until dough comes together. Press out to a 3cm-thick round.
Dip a 5cm round cutter into flour to prevent dough sticking. Cut out scones.
Gently press leftover dough pieces together and repeat to make a total 16 scones.
6. Place scones, touching, in prepared pan.
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until light golden.
Ginger & Date Scones
Add 1/3 cup finely chopped dried dates and 1 tablepoonful of ginger paste at the end of step 3.
小贴士:
1. Buttermilk 是必定要有的材料。
想要求更好的效果就必须在step 3 里加入1 杯lemonade/7-up。
2. 却对不能用手揉面团超过5次。手心的温度会使面团变质。

By the way, what is buttermilk huh? Butter+milk?
buttermilk refers to fermented milk (sweet+sour)... sometimes high in fats content... i think you should be able to buy it in supermarket for it is common item, should be in the chilled section~ (together with the other fresh milk)... haha~ yea~ Sonia started the trend and here is goes!
