Dad sent this portrait of trio to me yesterday. It is very nice of dad to send this over because I have long waited for this opportunity to show one of my biggest accomplishment to Alex, my fiance. I did this 13 years ago when I was about 12. I know Alex is very passionate about art, so I thought it would be very nice for us to appreciate the art work together (although the actual copy remains at my parents' place). My dad is a very caring and proud father, he has always been and will still be in the future. He loves me a lot or otherwise he wouldn't have gone through a big hassle of emailing such a wonderful picture to me (it takes some time for him to work out the computer job you know? He is getting better at it of course!). Thank you very much papa... I love you as much too!
I hope my readers don't mind me typing in english as I hope Alex, my brothers and sister-in-law can read this as well (without any need of translation)... hehe...
We have been trying out several new dishes combining a few different ingredients easily found in a supermarket. Our theory based simply on:
QUALITY INGREDIENTS + GOOD COOKING SKILLS + PATIENCE + TIME + EFFORT = GOOD DINNER...
Most importantly, they are really original! Hehe...
All dishes turned out to be as good honestly, if not better than those in the restaurant! You know why? That's because Alex cooked them with love, that's the secret ingredient!
Pizza doesn't seem hard to make. So we made two different flavours.
Then we had squids stewed in sambal sauce with labenese eggplants. I always enjoy sauces on rice, so this dish is really appetising!
Next we have pasta cooked in greek fetta sauce. If you like cheeses, you will definitely enjoy this as well!
One or two days we had these authentic malaysian meals which gave a new twist of flavour to our taste buds. A touch of spiciness in a meal is always good I think, something different. Alex likes it too!
Sometimes adding greens to our main meals is not a bad idea too!
Seafood is great too!
Chicken pasta in Alex's home made cream sauce is full of awesomeness! I like pasta in cream sauce, unlike those pre-made sauces you found on the shelf, it has to be original!
Some flavoursome grilled chicken wraps!
Then we had this new invention, stir-fried parsnips with spring onions in chinese sauce. We had this with creamy celery soup, which is not a bad combination at all!
Trying out something new is always fun! Of course the combination of ingredients must be sensible too! Alex always make good food, so I am not worried about the taste at all...
